Headquartered in Seattle, Washington, Blue Box, an IBM Company, is the innovation leader in on-premises OpenStack Dedicated and local cloud hosting.
The Blue Box Cloud Solution Sales Representative (SSR) is responsible for developing and closing new business within an assigned territory.
The SSR will acquire new customers and sell additional products and services into select existing accounts.
This role is accountable for exceeding monthly/quarterly quota, forecasting accuracy, management of the complete sales cycle from qualification through closing, and ensuring transition to Customer Operations.
The candidates will be motivated self-starters, eager to learn, and determined to adapt quickly. Proven cross-functional teamwork and sales success are absolutely required. A proven track-record of sales in the IT Infrastructure, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Hosting and/or Cloud markets is critical.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue objectives through the attainment of assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quota
  • Conduct discovery calls with customers and prospects to understand organizational structure, key decision makers, procurement processes, and IT systems in order to identify qualified prospects and build a sales plan
  • Leverage marketing slide decks and other materials, build custom sales presentations and demonstrations to client needs, and present by phone, webinar, and/or in-person
  • Qualify, build, and manage a sales pipeline through the development of leads, proactive prospecting, networking, and online social channels including LinkedIn
  • Draft customer proposals, demonstrate sound decision making abilities, and close deals
  • Serve as the “quarterback” and primary point of contact for aligning internal Blue Box and IBM teams
  • Work with key customer and prospect stakeholders
  • Develop short, mid and long-term strategic and tactical execution plans to ensure success in assigned territory
  • Accurately forecast monthly and quarterly sales activity and revenue achievement


  • Experience in Software or Services Sales : acquired
  • Experience in Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Infrastructure, Hosting, and/or Cloud industry : acquired
  • Basic knowledge in OpenStack
  • Basic knowledge in cloud and virtualization strategies (VMware, Microsoft HyperV, Citrix XenServer, etc)
  • Basic knowledge in hosting and business objectives for IT outsourcing
  • Basic knowledge in customer service, written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Basic knowledge in hosting and business objectives for IT outsourcing
  • Readiness to travel Up to 2 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
  • English: Fluent
  • German : Fluent
  • Fluent in the language of the country of residence
  • Experience in Software or Services Sales : mastered
  • Experience in Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Infrastructure, Hosting, and/or Cloud industry : mastered
  • Basic knowledge in Openstack
Bachelor’s Degree
Up to 25% or 2 days a week (home on weekends- based on project requirements)
