The Director of Marketing, Product, and Digital is responsible for developing and leading a clearly defined strategy integrating marketing communications, product, and digital to support business growth and enhance brand equity. The role is responsible for planning, organizing, staffing, training, and managing all marketing, product, and digital functions to support achievement of the company’s objectives.

 

The Director must be a seasoned marketing executive who has demonstrated the ability to develop and implement integrated marketing, product, and digital strategies focused on delivering measurable results for return on investment.

Responsibilities:

OVERALL:

  • Lead strategic planning for marketing, product innovation and management as well as digital including primary and secondary market research and competitive intelligence.
  • Lead improvement of the customer experience in line with brand strategy.
  • Partner with other Directors and Senior Management to create demand and recognition for the company and its products.
  • Develop and oversee management of marketing, product, and digital budgets, their effectiveness and reporting.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the marketing, product, and digital departments and make improvements and changes as needed.
  • Coach, mentor and raise the team’s ability to deliver and exceed expectations while creating opportunities for career advancement within the company.

MARKETING:

  • Lead the development of marketing vision and strategy for the organization.
  • Strengthen marketing process and capabilities for the organization.
  • Lead the development of unique brand positioning and communications that target key customer segments to build brand equity.
  • Ensure a strategic marketing planning process tied to corporate strategy and initiatives.
  • Contribute to other corporate sustainability planning.
  • Develop and oversee implementation of all elements of the marketing plan, including advertising, public relations, events and sponsorships.
  • Determine plans to evaluate marketing programs, course correct as necessary and present results and recommendations to executive management.

PRODUCT:

  • Analyze, define and segment the market, key competitors, broker/employer/provider roles, consumer buying process and appropriate customer, provider and patient segments to support product innovation and management with a focus on the shift to consumer-driven healthcare.
  • Lead the ongoing assessment and management of the product portfolio and lead innovation, portfolio pruning, and new product development.
  • Generate product forecasts to guide team and management decision making.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and launch new products and new benefit designs.
  • Contribute to other corporate sustainability planning.

DIGITAL:

  • Lead the development of digital vision and strategy for the organization.
  • Strengthen digital process and capabilities for the organization.
  • Support the digital execution of the brand and marketing strategies.
  • Establish goals for the digital team.

MANAGEMENT:

This position supervises the marketing, product management, and digital strategy teams.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • More than 15 years of marketing, product, and digital management experience required, with some health insurance marketing experience highly preferred
  • Demonstrated track record in developing, launching, and managing new products
  • Demonstrated experience redesigning and improving the consumer value chain and consumer experience
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive projects to completion
  • Direct responsibility for product profit and loss, including in a brand management Consumer Packaged Goods industry
  • Solid experience working with market research providers and a range of qualitative and quantitative methodologies
  • The ability to understand technical issues and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Work within multi-functional and multi-geographical teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with customers and with all levels of personnel
  • Four-year college degree and MBA required, a top 20 school MBA highly preferred

 

TRAVEL:

This position requires occasional travel, primarily to eastern Washington. Anticipate at least two days per month.
