Your old business phone service is a relic of the past and ThinkingPhones is here to bring it into the modern cloud era…ThinkingPhones is a Cambridge-based unified communications (UCaaS) company experiencing exponential growth with revenues that doubled in 2014, on track to more than double in 2015 and then repeat again 2016.  We are on a trajectory to go public in 2017 and we need Sales Engineers whose passion and knowledge will help take us through the IPO.  The successful candidate will work in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and advocate for our products. They must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users.  This powerhouse team has a great deal of responsibility and is instrumental in growing the business! These brand ambassadors are highly technical people with a need to win in a fast and competitive industry.

  • Listen, ask smart questions and determine if we can help the prospect
  • Ask tough questions that pull out the prospects pains and initiatives
  • Map your agenda, talk track and solution overview (demo) specifically to the identified initiative
  • Navigate the sales process and prospect opportunity to only being solved by ThinkingPhones
  • Plan and execute proofs of concept that lock down a technical win
  • Master the technology, industry, and competition – but no previous experience in this market is
  • Ablility to travel, do whatever it takes to win, and seek feedback and development to continuously
  • Earn merit based promotions and bonuses as part of a highly competitive compensation plan



  • Self-motivation, technical curiosity and an internal drive for success
  • A proven track record in enterprise sales
  • A sound knowledge of a wide variety of technology as a Sales Engineer (SE), Solution Architect (SA), Systems Engineer (SE) or Solutions Consultant (SC)
  • A high level of comfort in a dynamic atmosphere of a technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base
  • 2+ years of relevant enterprise SA/SE/SC experience in direct sales
  • 3-5 years total experience
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, and RFPs
  • An organized, analytical and professional approach and to be able to eliminate sales obstacles through creative and adaptive tactics
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Intellectual curiosity with a sense of humor
  • Coachability
  • Undergraduate degree (B.A. or B.S.)
